Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Winner on Tour with TG 1000
Armando Manzanero is an enthusiastic user of beyerdynamic microphones. As of this year, he’s working with the TG 1000 digital wireless system.
Born in Mexico, the musician Armando Manzanero Canché is probably better known as “El Maestro Armando Manzanero” in his genre, which means something like “the teacher Armando Manzanero”. Not for nothing does Armando bear this title: the 78-year-old piano player is generally considered the first Romantic artist of the post-war era, and is also one of Latin America’s most successful composers.
He composed his first melody at fifteen. This piece, called “Nunca en el Mundo”, has been translated into 20 different languages to date.
Twenty years later, the English version of his song “Somos Novios” (English title: “We are boyfriends”) was performed by Perry Como and nominated for a Grammy. This year, in 2014, the time had come and Armando Manzanero himself received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in the U.S.
We would like to take this opportunity to once again offer our heartfelt congratulations on behalf of beyerdynamic.
Manzanero wouldn’t think of using any microphones but beyerdynamic for his performances. As of this year, the musician is also on tour wirelessly with beyerdynamic. Armando Manzanero uses the beyerdynamic TG 1000 wireless system with a TG 1000 handheld transmitter and a TG V70w interchangeable microphone capsule. The dynamic microphone capsule is ideal for live singing and delivers an extremely well-rounded and particularly powerful sound.
